Position Summary

This role sits in the Regional Digital Marketing team and will be leading the Marketing Technology (MarTech) function across SEA & Oceania region.
The MarTech Manager works with the marketing team to enable and deliver data-driven, integrated customer experiences against the marketing technology stack. This job will collaborate with key stakeholders, to advocate for changes in the direction of marketing technology used across the business.
A successful applicant will know how to use the available platforms and solutions for CDP, CMS, marketing automation, digital, consent management platforms, DMPs, CX, CRM, and customization, existing 3rd party cloud solutions and be capable of successfully integrating solutions with other corporate and third-party systems.

Role and Responsibilities

Leadership and Subject Matter Expert

  • Analyse and deliver strategic insights on current marketing technology.
  • Translate technical issues into clear communication for management.
  • Translate business needs into optimized marketing solutions.
  • Recommend solutions to optimize marketing technology.
  • Design, scope, and specify MarTech projects, ensuring effective delivery.
  • Oversee lead engagement strategies and custom solution delivery.
  • Collaborate with Global Headquarters to influence MarTech software, tool features, functions and connection needs regionally.
  • Stay updated on new techniques and technologies in the field.
  • Conceptualize and implement workarounds for marketing system limitations to power business needs and requirements.
  • Ensure clear tracking and recording of marketing efforts.
  • Understand and utilize 3rd party cloud infrastructure for data analysis.
  • Excellent understanding of the impact of cookieless future. Address challenges, advise, recommend and drive solutions towards ensuring effective marketing in the cookieless future.
  • Manage multiple vendors to enhance end-to-end marketing solutions.
  • Drive data sharing and compliance within the organization.
  • Support, educate, and drive capabilities of marketing systems.
  • Act as a technical interface and define data sharing protocols.
  • Support major flagship launches and ensure system uptime.
  • Assist deployment and data teams during crucial marketing campaigns.
  • Identify and resolve data pipeline interruptions promptly.

Regional Governance 

  • Act as the regional gatekeeper to our 1PD Marketing Database, managing and controlling all requests for access, download while monitoring the usage to ensure legal and privacy compliance as well as prioritizing customer experience (prevent opt-outs).
  • Acts as the data privacy officer for the marketing team.
  • Collaborate on understanding PII legal frameworks and communicate data security policies internally.
  • Govern internal and external use of customer data in compliance with legal frameworks.
  • Audit marketing systems for compliance and recommend changes.
  • Stay updated on Samsung and external government regulations regarding data use.
  • Ensure marketing systems adhere to legal policies in collaboration with legal teams.
  • Audit data storage for policy adherence, including on-premise and cloud data.
  • Monitor vendor use of cloud systems for compliance and budget adherence.
  • Act as a gatekeeper for Samsung marketing systems and report security issues to HQ.
  • Respond to security issues promptly and ensure alignment with HQ security requirements.

Project management 

  • Lead major platform changes, especially CRM and cookieless initiatives.
  • Define marketing capability lapses, influence necessary changes to senior management, and ensure project execution from project planning to testing and roll-out.
  • Architect effective solutions and workarounds for marketing infrastructure limitations.
  • Manage multiple vendors to ensure project rollout within timeframe.
  • Create and present project status reports to management.

Team reporting and Budget Management 

  • Prepare strategic business reporting decks and manage team activity reporting.
  • Strict management of team budget and maintain strong vendor relationships.
  • Control technical team budget and provide monthly reports to management.
  • Ensure compliance with Samsung finance processes and timelines.
  • Explain technical expenditure rationale to finance teams to maintain budget integrity.
     

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA or Master's preferred
  • Minimum 8 years' work-experience in marketing/digital technology within business consultancy firm / electronics / tech / finance or CPG sector
  • Strong project management capabilities with knowledge of marketing, technology, key IT initiatives, enterprise- and inter-enterprise-level systems integration
  • Experience with CDPs, CRM solutions, paid media platforms, and email delivery issues
  • Expertise in API integration and ETL, both on-premise and in cloud
  • Understanding of data platform tools for marketing automation and operations
  • Proficiency in SQL and database foundations for data management
  • Strong analytical, communication, and collaborative skills
  • Independent, self-driven, responsible, with prior regional experience managing CoE and Operations team a plus
  • Ability to travel regionally (~25%), professional certifications are a plus (eg. PMP, Certification in Adobe Marketing Cloud / SAP)

Tool experience: SAP Hybris, Adobe product suites (Audience Manager, Campaign, Target), Google Cloud & AWS Cloud Storage
