Regional Operations Manager
Job Description
FloWorks is a leading specialty distributor of critical flow control products and provider of tailored technical solutions for MRO-focused applications. The company serves customers across chemical, downstream refining & renewables, high purity & sanitary, and other industrial end markets. FloWorks' product categories include valve & automation, corrosion resistant flow control, rotating equipment, flanges, filters & purifiers, and instrumentation. Privately held company headquartered in Houston, Texas.
Summary of Responsibilities
The Regional Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the operational activities within the assigned specified region, which includes managing various levels of the operations personnel. This role will facilitate a team environment between the regional operations personnel and regional sales management and work closely with regional counterparts to develop and implement best practices.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
- PROCESS DEVELOPMENT
- Facilitates and drives process development, training programs and procedural efficiencies, including the development of processes and the oversight of procedural implementation.
- Oversee the continual review and refinement of operational processes and procedures.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Standard Operating Policies and Procedures.
- MANAGEMENT
- Work with the Automation production personnel within the region to establish best practices that improve efficiencies and meet customer expectations.
- Partner with regional warehouse management personnel to monitor performance in key areas - receiving, shipping, material storage and freight delivery to internal/external customers.
- Monitor inventory cycle count progress within the region to ensure all items are counted according to company policy.
- Coordinate with regional branch operations personnel to provide management coverage for internal and external audits - ISO, inventory counts, safety, and quality.
- Manage operational costs through P&L reviews.
- Ensure that all Health, Safety and Environment policies are followed and required safety training is completed per company policy.
- Ensures operational processes and procedures are adhered to by personnel to meet quality standards.
- Lead and/or participate in regional operations meetings, as well as cross functional meetings to foster teamwork and develop efficiencies across the region.
- Review the Branch Scorecards to monitor the overall health of all operations within the region.
- TRAINING
- Develops training materials and schedules/conducts training on operations functions. Creates reference manuals and job aids.
- Partner with Human Resources and EHS management personnel to ensure regional operations personnel have received proper training.
Qualifications
- Experience analyzing continuous quality improvement needs and opportunities and implementing responsive strategies and procedures.
Training/Experience
- Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline. Generally 7+ years experience in related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.

- Solutions require analysis and investigation.

- Manages a group or team of professional individual contributors and/or indirectly supervises support staff.
Environmental Job Requirements
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rareoccasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
- Typically requires overnight travel 10% to 30% of the time.
