About the Role:

The Regional Principal Solutions Architect - Network will be the consultative technology leader and solution-focused subject matter expert who creates strong client intimacy within their technical expertise. The Regional Principal Solution Architect - Network will provide education and thought leadership while translating client business requirements into implementable technology solutions. With the goal of driving revenue, this role will focus on the creation and implementation of the solution architecture by doing presentations and demos, writing proposals and documenting deliverables.  The cornerstone of this role will also focus on building deep relationships, gaining trust and enabling client success.   As our customers continue their adoption of public and hybrid cloud strategies, this resource will be crucial in defining our go to market strategy around connecting our customers, their users and applications to the public cloud while supporting a work from anywhere distribution of end points.

What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate with Sales and Account Management team to identify and create winning sales strategies and new customer opportunities
  • Communicate Trace3’s value proposition to varying technical and non-technical clients, including executive ''C'' level management, VP, and Director levels, and end-users
  • Capture and process the customer information to build a robust proposed solution that addresses the requirements while considering the solution’s efficiency, flexibility, scalability, reliability, and availability
  • Develop Bill of Material (BOM)/proposal and provide recommendations using manufacture tools
  • Prepare and present external demos and training sessions with specific architecture focuses for clients
  • Create and develop or provide the technical scope of Statement of Works (SOW)
  • Providing accurate services Level of Effort scoping
  • Actively participate in the solution configuration process with the Inside Sales Representative and ensure the software/hardware order is accurate and complete
  • Provide pipeline tracking for all potential opportunities
  • Provide Post-Sales technical solutions support as needed: Develop implementation strategy, Design high-level and low-level architectural solutions, and lead/participate in the implementation of the solutions
  • Recommend new technologies, best practices, and tools that support the growth of the business.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship and technical direction for other engineers
  • Must be willing to travel when required 

Qualifications & Interests:

  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience with providing engineering services for organizations
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, preferred
  • Highest level certifications within Architecture area
  • Senior operations and/or architectural experience within a large enterprise network environment
  • Prior experience working for a VAR or Systems Integrator performing similar type duties
  • Strong experience designing technology solutions for Fortune 500 companies with an emphasis on (but not limited to) customers in the Financial Sector
  • Prior experience designing and implementing a VXLAN/EVPN datacenter networking solution for a CLOS fabric Spine/Leaf architecture across two (2) or more large datacenter environments serving 1000+ client endpoints.
  • Strong understanding of route and VLAN virtualization practices for supporting datacenter networks
  • Knowledge and familiarity of various engineering disciplines including: 
    1. Data Center Networking Layer 2 & Layer 3 (Cisco primary, Arista and Juniper secondary)
    2. Branch and Campus Networking (Cisco)
    3. Public and Hybrid Cloud Networking and Connectivity Strategies (AWS, Azure, Google, Equinix Cloud Exchange)
    4. Software Defined Infrastructure (SDI)
    5. Wireless Networking (Cisco, Meraki)
    6. Network Security Appliances Next Generation Firewalls (NGFW) (Cisco, Palo Alto)
    7. Network Security Policy Management Solutions (Tufin, Firemon)
    8. Load Balancing Solutions (F5)
    9. DDI Solutions (Infoblox, Bluecat)
    10. Network Performance Monitoring Solutions (Netscout, Riverbed, ThousandEyes)
    11. Wan Optimization (Riverbed)
    12. Service Mesh and API Gateways
    13. Experience with automation development and Infrastructure as code methodologies; Version Control System (git, subversion, BitBucket, gitlab, github)
    14. Experience with multiple scripting and programming languages with an emphasis on developing automated solutions for network configuration and deployment. Additional API development experience a plus (Python, Powershell, PowerCLI, REST)
    15. Site Reliability Engineering and Network Reliability Engineering a plus
    16. Converged and Hyperconverged Platform Solutions (Cisco, DellEMC, VMC, Nutanix)
    17. Virtualization architecture and deployment experience (VMware)
    18. SASE and Zero Trust Architecture and Design Experience
    19. Secure Web Gateway Experience (Zscaler)
    20. Client VPN Experience (Cisco and Palo Alto)
    21. CASB Experience (Broadcom, Netskope, Palo Alto)
  • Excellent presentation skills; able to comfortably communicate and present in front of C-Level Executives, VPs and Directors
  • Strong understanding of how clients use technology to meet business objectives
  • Familiarity with the local district markets
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to work well with people from many different disciplines
  • Ability to lead and mentor other engineers
  • Ability to mix deep technical expertise with simple, everyday language to deliver a story that is memorable, educational and useful
  • Must have a firm grasp on the industry and anticipate trends and movements while balancing maturity and timing
  • Motivated self-starter who loves to solve challenging problems and feels comfortable working directly with customers
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, excellent time management skills and able to effectively prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume, and evolving work environment
  • Comfortable managing multiple and changing priorities, and meeting deadlines in an entrepreneurial environment

Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base salary.
