Job Description

Company Description
Block is one company built from many blocks, all united by the same purpose of economic empowerment. The blocks that form our foundational teams - People, Finance, Counsel, Hardware, Information Security, Platform Infrastructure Engineering, and more - provide support and guidance at the corporate level. They work across business groups and around the globe, spanning time zones and disciplines to develop inclusive People policies, forecast finances, give legal counsel, safeguard systems, nurture new initiatives, and more. Every challenge creates possibilities, and we need different perspectives to see them all. Bring yours to Block.
Job Description
Our Regional Program Manager ensures workplaces comply with the global Workplace Experience program. You will report into our Regional Workplace Manager, and help set the strategy and establish the experiential offering for offices in their region in partnership with the Global Program Manager. You will support us with in-office events in collaboration with different partner organizations. Additionally, you will help expand the Local Block Chapter program, which works to create a sense of connection and community for our distributed workforce.
You will lead and consult, depending on the event scope and needs of the group hosting the event. You will review all event requests and assign events based on the type of event, often planning multiple events at the same time. You will work with local experience teams to ensure events have adequate "day-of" support.
You Will:
  • Partner with employees to produce team events including venue/vendor sourcing, communications, and overall logistics.
  • Provide in person event support for executive or large team events, traveling up to twice quarterly.
  • Manage budgets, vendor relationships, contracts and operations to achieve scalable success.
  • Project manage working teams (Culinary, AV, IT, Workplace, Trust & Safety), providing clear direction to improve coordinated efforts and execution.
  • Assess applications for new local chapters against the established criteria for creation
  • Creatively build off of existing program tools including tracking form, website, and slack channel to find more ways to communicate with users of the programs.
  • Use metrics to evaluate program effectiveness in the region and work with the local Workplace Experience Managers to improve performance or scale
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and provide feedback to Global Program Manager for improvements
  • Create elevated event management resource center for Block with helpful tools including location-based guides, templates, and vendor database.
  • Build a scalable event storage solution for event items that can be reused or left over items that future events can incorporate into their planning.
  • Manage and expand the internal swag program, working with individual BU's internally and external vendors to curate products.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 2-3 years experience in event management or alike (corporate events within large-scale tech companies a bonus)
  • Experience working with communication and web design (IE: presentations, signage, event brochures, email) within Canva, Adobe, or other similar platforms.
  • Project Management experience, including prioritizing multiple events and tracking (within JIRA, Asana, or other ticketing-type tool).
  • Previous vendor management experience.
