The Opportunity

The best match for this role is if you come from an accounting background having worked in public accounting and been involved in firm resource alignment. This role leads and coordinates activities to optimize and improve operational efficiencies to drive best practices for the region. You will be responsible for working closely with key internal stakeholders to address resource needs for our Eastern Midwest Region. You will be responsible for applying consistent resource planning across a range of engagements and will work closely with the business leaders and manage the process for scheduling all projects for the region utilizing industry blocks to align industry.

Essential Job Functions - the Day to Day

  • Lead and coordinate activities to optimize and improve operational efficiencies to drive best practices for the region
  • Participate as needed in weekly 'stand up' meetings/cadence of connections to address changes/needs
  • Responsible for managing the process for scheduling all projects for the region, use of industry 'blocks' to align industry
  • Use of STAR scheduling, and subsequently a power user of the proprietary CLA Scheduling Tool.
  • Responsible for the quality scheduling data inputs in STAR/ CLA Scheduling Tool
  • Lead budget building guidance training and Scheduling Tool navigation training.
  • Support for the regional practice as work shifts and schedules need to be adjusted to allow the practitioners to focus on serving our clients.
  • Monitors staff utilization to ensure steady stream of project hour allocation.
  • Works with geographic peers to ensure all client projects are staffed and leveraged appropriately.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time and communicate to management any concerns regarding resources, timeline obstacles and prioritization
  • Ability to work on project deliverables with minimal supervision and present status and results to Leadership for approval
  • Collaborating on campus hiring needs for the region

Experience

  • 5+ years' experience working in an Accounting/Professional services firm in operational efficiency and optimization

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or 8 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Preferred degree in Accounting

Certifications/Licenses

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent experience is preferred but not required
  • Scheduling Specialist Certification (PMI-SP) is a plus but not required

Technical Competencies

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Organized, detail oriented with the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in many different situations
  • Team player/able to work collaboratively with a variety of management levels
  • Comfortable with conflict resolution
