Summary
Sell for all product groups within SMS group at a given customer location. Manage and be involved in, whenever possible, all SMS group activities at given customer location. Develop relationships within a specific customer region across all business areas; maintenance, operations and purchasing. Maintain good working relationship with customer and develop personal relationships when possible.

What you'll do
- Responsible for sales volume at a given customer as assigned by General Manager of Sales, bring RFQs and potential sales opportunities from designated customer location.
- Review all proposals prior to submission to the customer, submit or approve/authorize proposal submissions.
- Develop or assist in creation of scope of work or required supply for spare parts, prospective projects and/or field service opportunities.
- Interact with Estimators, Account Specialists and Product Managers to explain/clarify work scope for repairs and modernizations and/or spare part RFQs.
- Work with customers to develop concepts for improvement of customer equipment.
- Interact with other SMS group companies and all STS divisions including corporate management on all work provided for a given customer.
- Interact with STS Repair and Modernization group on equipment improvements & specification changes.
- Interact with customer personnel in regards to work performed by STS workshop and/or spare parts supply.
- Complete reporting requirements for customer, including but not limited to meeting reports, Certify expense reports, CRM updates, updating customer contact information.
- On site review/repair of customer equipment issues, including aiding in resolving warranty claims.
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested by STS upper management.
- Oversee and coordinate all projects involving multiple STS Facilities
- Provide customer and STS Facilities with frequent status reports
- Ensure project schedules and/or deliveries are being met, if not communicate with customer and STS facilities
- Ensure that the quality requirements of the project are achieved or exceeded
- Ensure project costs are being controlled and are meeting objective
- Support customer during startup and commissioning of projects. Provide feedback to STS facilities.
What you'll need
- Bachelors degree with 5+ years steel/metals industry experience or 8+ years of steel/metals industry experience
- Sales background with strong negotiating skills
- Understanding of metals manufacturing processes
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with high-level customers
- Knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management
- Knowledge of project management principles and practices
- Strong team player and the ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to prioritize, organize and multi task.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
- Computer Skills: Microsoft Outlook, CRM, Word, Excel, Access and Project Software, Engineering Software (CAD/CAM) - not required but useful
