Summary of Position:

The Regional Sales Manager ensures that the sales goals of SFS-Wausau (Linetec) are met. Responsible for providing strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the business unit Outside Sales functions as follows:

This position is responsible for leading the Outside Sales team in their specific territories throughout the United States.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, direct and monitor business unit sales.
  • Participate in the development of the company's plans and programs as a strategic partner, specifically from the perspective of the impact on sales.
  • Support business unit operations by providing timely and accurate reports and data
  • Proactive analysis and champion - on a self-initiated basis, detects potentials risks and opportunities
  • Provide sales advice and knowledge to others.
  • Travel with Sales Managers to customer visits on a regular basis.
  • Oversee and monitor internal controls and processes within the business unit to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal regulations and corporate policies
  • Collaborate with the marketing department to help deign and implement marketing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with marketing on pricing programs with VP of sales
  • Work with estimating and productions to quote special projects and materials
  • Work with operations to ensure order volumes and operational capacities are matched and determine appropriate actions/communications when they are not
  • Participate in the new product introduction (NPI) process and help identify and implement new service and finishing options to market
  • Develop sales strategies and implementation plans and programs to identify potential sales and retention of current customer base.
  • Oversee budget and forecast activities
  • Supervise and assign work duties within the Sales function
  • Apply Lean principles in own work performance and drive Lean applications in company operations.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Sales or a related field
  • 5+ years' experience in multiple Sales/Marketing role
  • Related work experience in a public manufacturing entity
  • Experience in aluminum finishing industry preferred
  • Project management experience
  • Supervisory experience

Physical Demands:

Light - typical of office environment

Work Environment:

Usual office working conditions with occasional (5%) exposure to the production environment (heat, operating machinery, and noise). Office duties require sitting behind a desk, performing tasks on a computer. Position involves approximately 60-75% travel. No significant physical exertion required. Can be expected to travel 3-4 days a week and 2-3 weeks a month.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for training and development, performance management, delegation of department tasks, applying company policy and addressing complaints/resolving problems that occur within the Outside Sales area.
  • Provides direct supervision to all Sales Managers.
  • Team size of 4-5 Sales Managers.
