Regional VP, Business Development

As a Regional Vice President Business Development, you will be responsible for managing your region and working in conjunction with supporting functions including Account Management and Provider Network Development. Further, you will source new client opportunities through online research, networking platforms, fostering consultant relationships, and direct to buyer campaigns in an effort to grow the company's member base. You will cover accounts with between 2.5k and 10k eligible employees and will target opportunities based on defined quality and other factors that best align with solutions offered by EDH including SurgeryPlus and Cancer Care Direct. You will be a subject matter expert on contracting with the ability to articulate SurgeryPlus' value proposition and differentiating us from competitors in the space. You will work collaboratively with the other regions with regards to targeted markets presented to and agreed upon with Senior Leadership. Communication skills are critical, as well as the ability to quantify and manage all aspects of a project, balancing both client and internal team objectives. This position requires some travel and is based out of our Dallas, TX headquarters. When in Dallas, there is an expectation that sufficient time will be spent in Company's headquarters office, in order to develop and foster relationships with both Sales Team members and representatives from other Departments, to create the connections and synergies required to be successful in this role.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Source new client opportunities through prospecting, fostering consultant relations, attending industry tradeshows and networking
  • Understand customer needs and requirements and how they relate to SurgeryPlus
  • Negotiate contracts with consultants and clients
  • Research accounts: identify key players and generate interest in SurgeryPlus
  • Maintain and expand prospects within the strategic area of focus for the company
  • Perform effective sales presentation and discussion to prospective clients
  • Participate in internal projects and non-client related tasks as needed
  • Model and foster a team-centered culture which rewards collaboration, problem solving, effort and accountability
  • Work cross-functionally between departments to resolve complex issues as well as develop solutions proactively and independent of supervision
  • Work collaboratively with Provider Sales Team to proactively address network needs based on current and anticipated member demand

Requirements

Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate complex ideas to a wide-ranging audience
  • 5+ years of professional experience in direct sales
  • Track record of successful sale efforts and demonstration of performance against Company quotas and objectives
  • Experience interfacing with clients including written, telephonic and face-to-face interactions inclusive of senior management level communications
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively handle client escalations, managing to successful outcomes
  • Proven work experience in project management and
  • Ability to perform successfully in a high-pressure, fast-paced working environment
  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong candidates will have:

  • Evidence of relationships with benefits buyers and benefits consultants
  • Experience in self-funded benefits (health/medical) industry highly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to create and modify content in PowerPoint and Excel for inclusion in Sales presentations
