Registered Nurse

Coordinates annual and routine medical services to ensure all Healthcare records are up to date and include all regulations as mandated by OPWDD Super vises AMAP staff in aspects of medication administration and documentation as prescribed by their primary care physician or licensed providers. The Registered Nurse is on call 24hrs to provide phone triage for consultation on all medical needs of the individuals served. Serve as a liaison to both the families and the residential staff of the individuals we serve regarding their medical concerns. Provide in-service training to the residential staff in the following areas: • Dysphagia/ Special Diets • Detecting Signs and Symptoms of Illness • Medical Emergency Management • OSHA • Overview of First Aid, including seasonal considerations • Overview of Seizure Disorders, Diabetes & Heart Conditions • Any other pertinent medical conditions or issues Participate in the Interdisciplinary Team process. Participate in the following standing committees, if requested and assigned: Human Rights and Incident Review (SRC). Complete all written reports and documentation on a timely basis so that all agency, state and federal regulations maintain residential compliance. Maintain confidentiality on a need to know basis regarding Healthcare concerns and diagnosis of the individuals served. Report all incidents, including allegations of abuse and neglect and serious reportable incidents, to management immediately upon discovery. Advocate appropriately and professionally on behalf of all individuals. Participate in in-service trainings and on-site workshops, as required, for professional growth and development. Attend external trainings and workshops at direction of Management and Sr. Director of Nursing. Maintain certification in CPR/AED, as required. Undertake any additional tasks and initiatives as assigned by Management or Sr. Director of Nursing.
