About the Role:
As a Registered Nurse on the Night Shift at Lakeview Health, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care during the overnight hours. Your primary responsibility will be to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients in a medical-surgical setting. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure that each patient receives personalized care tailored to their specific needs. Additionally, you will be responsible for educating patients and their families about health management and recovery processes. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute to improved patient outcomes and a positive healthcare experience for those in your care.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with a commitment to obtaining a BSN within a specified timeframe.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in a medical-surgical nursing environment.
• Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• Previous experience in telemetry monitoring.
Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and performing wound care.
• Educate patients and their families on health management, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
• Advocate for patients' needs and preferences, ensuring their voices are heard in the care process.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
Skills:
The required skills of direct patient care and patient education will be utilized daily as you interact with patients, assess their conditions, and provide necessary treatments. Wound care skills will be essential for managing and dressing patient wounds effectively, ensuring optimal healing. Telemetry skills will allow you to monitor patients' heart rhythms and respond promptly to any changes in their condition. Patient advocacy will be a key component of your role, as you will work to ensure that patients' rights and preferences are respected throughout their care journey. Additionally, your nursing care skills will be critical in developing comprehensive care plans that address both the physical and emotional needs of patients.
