Horizon Healthcare Staffing is seeking compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurses (RNs) with experience in working with individuals with developmental disabilities for a rewarding opportunity in Brooklyn, NY. As an RN with experience in OPWDD (Office for People With Developmental Disabilities), you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their well-being and enhancing their overall quality of life.
Responsibilities:
• Assess and evaluate the medical and healthcare needs of individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans (ICPs) in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to meet the specific needs of each individual.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring safety and compliance.
• Monitor and document the health status and progress of individuals regularly, making appropriate adjustments to care plans as needed.
• Provide education and support to individuals and their families regarding health management and self-care techniques.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, therapists, and support staff to ensure a holistic and comprehensive approach to care.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation.
Qualifications:
• Valid and active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Experience in working with individuals with developmental disabilities, preferably in an OPWDD setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with individuals, families, and a diverse healthcare team.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities in managing complex healthcare needs.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
