Job Description

Reportingto the Nurse Manager, the staff RN performs professional role functions inaccordance with scope of practice and professional standards, includingdemonstrating the knowledge and ability to use and/or lead the scope ofpractice, professional standards and accreditation / regulatory standards, scopeof practice for LVN and all othernursing personnel e.g. unlicensed assistive personnel. The RN demonstrates theability to assess their own professional role performance, current knowledge oftheory and principles related to discipline specific practice, and the abilityto use a population based approach to determine patient needs.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/ EXPERIENCE:
1. Graduate of an accredited RegisteredNurse (RN) program required.
2. Experience and/or training inleadership preferred, if acting as charge nurse
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:
1. Current CA State licensure asa Registered Nurse required.
2. Current BLS (American Heart)certificate required.
3. Current NRP required.
4. Current ACLS (AmericanHeart) required.
5. Basic Fetal Monitoringrequired or Introduction to Fetal Monitoring required upon hire or within 3month of hire for new grad RN’s or RN’s with no Labor & Deliveryexperience.
6. Intermediate Fetal Monitoringcourse required, cert accepted upon hire or to be completed within 9 months ofhire. (Intermediate not required once Advanced Feteal Monitoring is received).
7. Advanced Fetal Monitoringrequired within 2 years of employment and then maintained Q2 years.
