Bring your passion for post-surgical care and the surgical oncology population to help us achieve our mission of making life better for the patients on the 4th floor at Banner Gateway Medical Center. 4T is a fast-paced, 31-bed medical-surgical unit, with a patient population comprised of primarily post-operative patients received from the PACU. Our patients undergo a wide-array of surgical procedures, from advanced cancer removal surgeries from all body systems, to laparoscopic weight-loss procedures in the bariatric population.

As a Magnet designated facility, our nurses work collaboratively alongside our physician partners and the multidisciplinary team, and we are proud to foster an inviting, team-focused, and continual learning environment. Our nurses have the opportunity to represent the nursing profession through hospital-wide and unit specific process improvement committees and shared leadership, attend physician-led educational courses on the management of our advanced surgical procedures, and receive a tailored and robust onboarding with help from our 4T RN Operational Support Specialist and facility educator. The 4th floor was also recently recognized as a Banner Health Top 10 Performer for our excellent patient experience scores, demonstrating our positive and patient-centered culture we have become known for.

Banner Gateway has a proud partnership with MD Anderson, one of the nation’s leading cancer centers, whose outstanding cancer programs integrate the latest in research, education and prevention. As an RN on 4th floor, you will work closely with MDA surgeons and advanced practice providers in the delivery of high-quality patient care. In addition to our partnership with MD Anderson Cancer Center and the oncology patients we serve, BGMC is also designated as a Center of Excellence by the American Society of Bariatric Surgery and the Surgical Review Corporation. Our surgeons have all completed fellowships in minimally invasive surgical techniques, and are skilled in the latest surgical options for weight loss.

If you are passionate about supporting patients through the post-surgical recovery process and being a part of their journey to health and wellness, we would love to welcome you to the 4th floor family.

This is a full-time position night shift available: 3 12-hour shifts, 7-7:30.

You will also have the opportunity utilize our self-scheduling tool for shift and weekend coverage. Enjoy an 18%-night shift differential and a flat rate $3/hour weekend shift differential.
