Registered Nurse

JOB TITLE:Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse HOURS: Monday - Friday 5:45 AM to 2:15 PM & Saturdays from 7am to 11am SUPERVISIOR:Reports to Medical Director and Clinical Director QUALIFICATIONS:Must be LPN or RN GENERAL DUTIES:Dispense methadone medication and maintain records. Responsible for keeping in compliance with OASA, FDA, SUPR, CARF and DEA rules and regulations. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Dispense methadone in accordance with procedures. • Keep a physical count of methadone on hand. • Document any medication spilled or given to a wrong client in the wrong amounts and report the incident. • Order methadone monthly, based on the past dispensing record. • Discharge clients. • Prepare medication for delivery to hospitals, etc. • Provide pertinent information regarding incarcerated clients by telephone and mail. • Make appointments for client(s) with the Medical Director; • Review Laboratory results and inform the Medical Director of any medical problems, which might require a referral. • Monitor tuberculin skin tests and charting results in the client medical records. • Acknowledge the order of the Medical Director (changes in methadone dosages, detox schedules, etc.) • Explain the consent for Methadone Treatment Form and witness the client’s signature. • Conducts a weekend medical educational group once a month. • Maintain confidentiality of clients and records. • Performs other duties as assigned Required experience: • LPN or RN: 2 years. • Licensed by the State of Illinois as an LPN or Registered Nurse. • Must have experience dispensing methadone in a clinical setting.
