Job Description

As a Regular Group Account Executive, you will build strong relationships with existing and new group benefits advisors and consultants within the 50+ employee group environment. You will be accountable for the acquisition of new business, the maintenance, growth, profitability and the strategic direction of assigned existing accounts, and overall customer satisfaction. More specifically, you will be required to:

  • Foster and maintain excellent advisor, consultant and client relationships

  • Develop and implement a business plan that will assist you to meet sales, retention and net growth targets

  • Grow the block of business on a profitable basis

  • Conduct regular face-to-face meetings and promotional presentations with advisors, consultants and clients highlighting Desjardins Insurance’s group benefits products, services and competitive advantages

  • Bring the voice of the client to internal partners for quotes, renewals and service-related issues

  • Represent the Desjardins brand by regularly attending and actively participating in industry conferences and events

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field

  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience in group benefits

  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered

  • Holds a of GBA (Group Benefits Associate) or CEBS (Certified Employee Benefits Specialist)

  • Expert knowledge of group insurance products and policies, underwriting principles, pricing and procedures

  • Expert proficiency in English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English speaking partners, members and/or clients

  • Available for frequent travel at the request of members and clients

  • Must have a valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle
