Regulatory Compliance Manager - Beverage & Flavors

Key Roles and Responsibilities:Â
- Responsible for customer compliance support of flavors used in beverage applications for global and domestic accounts including completing customer compliance documentation. This includes compliance with FDA and Health Canada requirements for product labeling, food allergens, genetically modified foods, nutrition, organic and religious suitability (for example Kosher/Halal)Â
- Experience of relevant US/Canadian regulatory agencies, requirements, and processes. Experience of relevant food and flavor international regulations including South America, European and Asian (anywhere else we may want to expand to?) regulatory agencies, requirements, and processes are an advantage. Â
- Work on commercialization of new products to ensure all documentation is collected for any new raw material to ensure compliance with respective certification requirements. Manage regulatory approval process for marketing/advertising material and packaging to ensure accuracy of claims/labeling and compliance with regulations related to food, food safety, specifications, product usage, nutrition and health claims in the USA, Canada and International.Â
- Works cross functionally with operations, marketing, legal and sales for compliance on label and packaging content for existing products (rolling changes) as well as new product launches.Â
- Review and revise product labels to comply with regulations of relevant governing body (US, Canada, International)Â
- Review Nutrition Facts Panel for new product launches.Â
- Responsible for contacting vendors and maintaining raw material documentation to ensure all information is up to date. This includes but is not limited to, specification sheets, SDSs, nutritional statement, organic compliant statements and certificate of naturalness. This also might include yearly vendor evaluations to ensure vendor compliance (questionnaires, audit certifications, recall and traceability documentation)Â Â

Qualifications:Â
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Food Science or closely related discipline (Nutrition, Chemistry, Toxicology) with a minimum of 5-8 years regulatory experience, including experience with food or beverage regulated productsÂ
- Knowledge of federal, state and local regulations in both US and Canadian marketsÂ
- Be a strong written and verbal communicator with experience of presenting to technical and non technical audiences.Â
- Be a skilled collaborator, with experience of working effectively in multi-functional teams and across multiple geographiesÂ
- Have the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting agreed timelines with strong organizational skillsÂ
- Have strong analytical, strategic thinking and planning skills and demonstrate critical attention to detail and accuracyÂ
- Be a creative thinker, capable of problem solving and innovating to meet the multiple needs of the businessÂ
- Have a demonstrated track record of successful regulatory support in the food and beverage industries. Â
- Strong Excel skills preferredÂ
