Regulatory Payments Compliance Director

BlueSnap is looking for an experienced Regulatory Payments Compliance Director to ensure the company adheres to global rules and regulations impacting bank card payments and electronic transfers. You will be responsible for analyzing and enforcing regulations in all aspects and levels of business as well as provide guidance on compliance matters. You should be well-versed in global payments legal guidelines and corporate governance best practices.
The goal is to preserve the company's integrity by making sure it stays on a lawful and ethical course.
This position is a hybrid role based in our Waltham, MA office.
Responsibilities:
- Research, track and keep apprised of new global payments rules and regulations and best practices and controls in the payments sector, including but not limited to UDAP, Telemarketing Sales Rule, NACHA rules and state, federal and global consumer protection regulations, and licensing regulations
- Analyze, interpret and make recommendations for impact and compliance of new rules and regulations impacting the payments industry
- Review internal and external audit findings and initiate steps for remediation or improvement
- Create and/or modify and implement internal policies, procedures and reporting as needed to identify risks or non-conformity issues with bank obligations, card brand and ACH requirements and global payment rules
- Assess the business's new products and services offerings to identify possible compliance risks
- Work independently and establish a collaborative relationship with business partners, banks, legal and other key stakeholders
- Review and evaluate the compliance work of colleagues or risk teams, when necessary to ensure quality or work performed and provide advice or training as needed
- Coordinate and execute internal audit program and testing to ensure effectiveness and identify gaps
- Draft reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies as appropriate
- Other responsibilities as required and assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree, JD preferred
- 7+ years in Compliance, Audit and Regulatory Risk
- Experienced in Microsoft Office Products
- In-depth knowledge of the payments industry's standards and regulations
- Comfortable being independent and a self-starter
- A business acumen partnered with a dedication to legality and critical thinking skills
- Methodical, detailed and diligent with outstanding planning abilities
- An analytical mind able to "see" the complexities of procedures and regulations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience drafting policies in fast evolving atmosphere
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and prioritize in fast paced environment
