Rel Mgr, Cons Relations
The Relationship Manager, Cons Relations is assigned to a basic book of business and is responsible for ensuring growth, retention and servicing of client relationships. This job is responsible for retention of existing business through deepening relationships with key decision-makers and partners while driving plan outcomes through alignment with best practices in retirement plan design, efficient plan administration, and delivering lifetime income solutions through expanded adoption of the broad array of TIAA products & services.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develops and maintains relationships with Client Relationships Retirement & Education Savings clients to understand their business, risks, and opportunities.

  • Identifies and provides input into new initiatives process/workflow improvements and program/policy changes.

  • Suggests and implements creative or unique solutions to solve problems.

  • Assists product management and marketing in the development of new products/services.

  • Maintains and enhances relationships with the decision makers at plan sponsors.

  • Advocates for TIAA as a representative to outside groups and associations.

  • Recommends a wide range of company products/services in response to client's business requirements - including proactively suggesting solutions to clients.

    Additional Job Description related to Qualifications

    • 3 years of Institutional Retirement client relationship management experience, Institutional retirement plan consultative sales, and / or retirement plan consulting experience.
    • Proven track record of achieving sales results.
    • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining executive/key influencer/buyer relationships at client institutions.
    • Technical expertise of financial products/services and the features/benefits of TIAA (or like) products and services.
    • Complete understanding of IRA, 403(b), 401(a)/(k), 457(b) and (f) defined contribution plan technical rules, including nondiscrimination rules and ERISA requirements, with an advanced understanding of retirement plan design for our institutions. Able to assist client's outside counsel and/or legal counsel on plan design as applicable. Knowledge of defined benefit plans as they relate to TIAA's business.
    • Strong presentation skills with the ability to prepare executive summaries using Microsoft’s PowerPoint, Excel and Word applications.
    • When travel resumes, ability to perform ~ 25-35% travel

    LOCATION:  This is a hybrid flex position with some days in the office, some days in a home office.  As such, the candidate will ideally be located within the greater New York City metropolitan marketplace.

    Potential Salary: $84,750.00 USD

    Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.  In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
