Release Manager, Web and Mobile Platforms

TITLE:                               Release Manager, Web and Mobile Platforms

Duties:                             Develop next generation of Motor Trend’s software platforms for Motortrend.com and Motor Trend Streaming app. Participate in Sprint stand-ups, planning, grooming and retrospectives for Sprint teams and software developers. Support software release management initiatives and drive improvements with minimal impact to software development team. Collaborate across teams to drive software development initiatives across organization. Collaborate with TPMs, Product Managers, and Engineering Managers for successful launch of various software components in Front-End, API and Content management systems. Create software release schedule and identify release dependencies. Track progress metrics and software release work volume. Collaborate with different sprint teams to resolve issues related to release dependencies and bottlenecks. Enforce software development standards, best practices and modern development conventions. Bring releases to closure based on release defect prioritization. Support enterprise software systems involving multiple components owned by different teams. Remote Work Permitted.

SCHEDULE:                    40 hours per week, Monday through Friday

SALARY:                           $177,029-$178,029 per year

LOCATION:                     Motor Trend Group, LLC, 831 South Douglas Street, El Segundo, CA 90245

REQUIREMENTS:        Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or closely related field of study and five (5) years of experience as a Systems Administrator, Software Developer Applications-Release & Configure Management, or closely related occupation. Also requires experience in the following:

• Five years of experience in Implement and mange release processes for software code through development, testing, and production deployment;
• Three years of experience in Create and maintain Release Schedules & Calendars, Release Notes;
• Three years of experience in Run Go/No-Go decision with stakeholders;
• Three years of experience in Coordinate production deployments and software rollbacks with DevOps;
• Five years of experience in Design CI/CD setup, test management processes, and configuration management; and
• Five years of experience in Manage release and deployment of software components in Front-End, API, and Content Management systems (CMS) for Web apps.
