Join our dynamic team as a Senior Reliability Engineer where you will collaborate with system and design engineers to define and achieve stringent reliability and safety standards for unmanned aerial vehicles and their associated systems. This role demands a strategic thinker with a knack for analyzing costs and developing robust solutions to ensure the dependability of our products and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Reliability Analysis: Develop and refine methods to evaluate the reliability of components, systems, and processes, ensuring alignment with project goals and customer requirements.
Engineering Consultation: Offer expert guidance on the selection, application, and testing of electronic components and systems, ensuring their reliability and effectiveness.
Innovative Techniques: Create and implement new acceleration methods and analytical tools to identify potential issues early in the design and development phases of products.
Data Analysis: Gather and interpret data to generate visual aids, calculations, and reports that pinpoint reliability issues and propose solutions for enhancement.
Engineering Development: Design cutting-edge engineering methods, specialized equipment, and novel testing procedures. Communicate these advanced techniques through detailed technical reports and mentor junior reliability engineers.
Problem Solving: Analyze complex reliability issues to determine the most effective approaches, considering cost implications, equipment downtime, repair/replacement expenses, and resource constraints.
Independent Work: Operate with minimal supervision, establishing methods and procedures for new tasks and potentially leading a team to achieve project objectives.
Technical Leadership: Provide cross-disciplinary technical guidance and lead teams or projects to meet established goals. Offer mentorship and support for both technical and company values.
Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned to support team and project success.
Requirements:
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field is required, or a combination of education, training, and experience.
Experience: 8-12 years of experience in Component or Reliability Engineering, with a strong grasp of FMECA, MTTR, MTTF, MTBF, and spares calculations.
Problem-Solving Skills: Proven ability to diagnose critical issues and contribute to the long-term reliability and sustainability of products.
Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of engineering principles and their application in technical problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced Education: A Master’s degree or higher is preferred.
MBSE Tools: Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools, such as Cameo.
Additional Engineering Experience: Experience in Maintainability Engineering and Availability Engineering is desirable.
Creativity and Initiative: Ability to tackle complex design challenges and deliver innovative solutions within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Leadership and Mentoring: Demonstrated leadership abilities with a focus on team success and personal development.
Communication Skills: Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Physical Requirements:
Work Environment: Ability to work in both office and manufacturing settings.
Physical Stamina: Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and using hands and fingers for computer and telephone operations.
Additional Information:
Security Clearance: Must be willing to work on government contracts and obtain a security clearance.
Salary Range: $100,000-150,000
