Reliability Engineer - Engineering

Job Summary:

Optimizes the performance of the manufacturing lines by providing support to the reliability aspects of the business. Works closely with the Maintenance and Operations departments to develop, implement, and monitor reliability KPIs to drive continuously improving systems. Collaborates closely with Engineering to ensure the vertical startup of new capital systems, establish a strong reliability plan for the sustainability of the investment, and ensure packaging reliability.

Job Description:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Leads efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, packaging, utilities, facilities, controls, and EHS/security systems where applicable.
• Professionally and systematically defines, designs, develops, monitors, and refines an asset maintenance plan, including value-added preventive maintenance tasks and effective utilization of predictive/other non-destructive testing methodologies designed to identify and isolate inherent reliability problems.
• Provides technical support to production, packaging engineering, maintenance management, and technical personnel.
• Manages project startups for reliability aspects of the project.
• Drives the establishment, management, and optimization of maintenance plans using FMEA, RCM, RCA, application of TPM AM/PM, etc.
• Applies Failure Mode Technique through Failure Finding Interval (FFI) and Redundancy calculations and determining P-F interval.
• Develops and deploys sustainable reliability metrics such as MTBF, MTTR, availability, etc.
• Drives engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations; supports improvements to Safety, Quality, Service, Performance, and People.
• Coordinates and supports the scheduling of machine contractors for the Site to ensure proper resource allocation and advanced planning for projects, events, and initiatives.
• Analyzes equipment life cycle.
• Applies knowledge of department policies/procedures and utilizes a general understanding of other department's functions while maintaining strict confidentiality and paying strict attention to detail.
• Adheres to all procedures and practices associated with Food Safety, Security, and Team Member Safety.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelors of Science in Engineering. Reliability, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• 5 years in a manufacturing environment.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships with a broad spectrum of internal and external customers.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to remain calm in difficult situations.
• Experience demonstrating teamwork and cooperation.
• Strong understanding of statistical tools and data analytics.
• Experience utilizing SAP PM module or equivalent PM system.
• Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and complete them in a timely manner.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

• Experience adapting to both office and factory environments with a broad range of responsibilities.
• Experience with HACCP and GMPs in food manufacturing environment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Position requires prolonged sitting at computer, visual concentration, and ability to lift and carry supplies.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Both office and factory floor environment. Factory floor could include climbing stairs, cold and hot environments, standing for periods, wearing PPE, and other elements within the factory. It could include off-shift hours at times as well.
