Reliability/Engineer Manager
Job Description
The Reliability/Engineer Manager will have a strong passion and drive to eliminate all maintenance losses in the site by using proven technical tools to develop maintenance strategies for both new and existing equipment. This role must be a leader in maintenance improvement tools (PM Optimization, RCM, BDE, Calibration, Planning & Scheduling, Stockroom Mgmt, etc.) and knowledgeable in predictive maintenance tools (Vibration, Ultrasound, Thermography, etc).
What are we looking for?
- 5-10 years of experience in a reliability related scope of work
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a leadership role
- Previous experience in developing technical skills
- Previous experience developing work processes and technical documents
- Preferred post-Secondary Education in a technical field
- Dual license (electrical / mechanical) is preferred
- Required to have CMRP (Certified Maintenance Reliability Professional) and/or expected to complete within 18 months of hire.
What will be your key responsibilities?
Safety
- Be a Role model and drive the culture of safe behaviors and execution
- Training completions, regulatory inspections, corrective actions completed on time
- Address the safety aspects in the SIMPTWW (maintenance task instructions)
- Communicate safety near misses and any recommended roll out from the network.
- Manage Stop Assess Control process and ensure being used by all necessary contractors and mechanics
Quality
- The associate ensures Food Safety requirements are effectively performed. This includes training of shift technician team on the Food Safety & Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), ensuring CCP monitoring is in effect and continuously improving the process
- Role Model Quality Mindset and Behaviors and drives them within the team
- Communicate Quality near misses from the network
Leadership
- Manage Performance, development, and succession planning of direct reports
- Leading the engagement plans (Impact planning and High-performance collaboration)
- Instill ownership into direct reports through Mars leadership skills
- Provide the right level of coaching and support to the team
- Drive the needed cultural changes that support the MSE journey in the site
- Ensuring your resources availability in regular schedules and during projects
Mars Supply Excellence/ PM pillar
- Responsible for leading the site asset strategy for the proper care and maintenance of all assets.
- Creating our asset register.
- Assigning asset criticality (ABC)
- Establishing a maintenance strategy for each asset with RCM principles
- Create PM's for all assets following the maintenance strategy
- Create a PM Optimization roadmap for modifying and evolving our asset strategy
- Become an influential leader in capital strategy for asset replacement
- Owning the Stockroom DMS in the PM pillar. This includes:
- Lead the stockroom site strategy
- Establish stockroom KPI's: cycle counting, stockouts, min/max
- Design the physical layout of the stockroom
- Establish good stockroom practices: 5S, organization, FIFO, parts storage best practices
- Establish key stockroom control measures
- Establish purchasing work process
- Be an active participant in the kitting process for P&S
- Owning the Planning & Scheduling Work Management DMS
- Lead the site planning & scheduling of maintenance activities
- Establish P&S KPI's: PM Compliance, Schedule Compliance, Planned Work Compliance
- Establish the planning & scheduling work process: work requests, job creation, work plans, work approval
- Establish standard job plan creation
- Establish the kitting process for planned work and PM's
- Owning the Maintenance Cost DMS
- Prepare and understand the technical team operating budget
- Be able to prepare a list of fixed costs period by period and understand/track variable costs in an organized and efficient manner
- Owning the Breakdown Elimination DMS
- Lead the technical team in root cause analysis
- Establish breakdown elimination KPI's: total breakdowns, MTBF, MTTR
- Establish the BDA (break down analysis) best practices: BDA Card, fishbone diagrams, 5 Why, Dice Chart
- Owning the Lubrication DMS in the PM Pillar. This includes:
- Developing a lubrication roadmap for all assets and establishing lubrication frequencies
- Identifying the standard lubricants for our assets and working with the stockroom DMS leader to for storage, procurement, and 5S compliant
- Build out the physical location for storage of lubricants
- Calibration Strategy & Management:
- Responsible owner for ensuring all of our critical equipment is calibrated and working to the OEM's range of accuracy: scales, sensors, flowmeters, temperature probes, pressure gauges etc
Technical Skills
- Strong Mechanical, Electrical, Pneumatics and Hydraulic background
- Deep understanding maintenance strategies (Planning & Scheduling, Stockroom Management, Preventive Maintenance Optimization, Maintenance cost & budgeting, Breakdown Elimination, and Lubrication)
- Assist in troubleshooting issues as needed. Respond to breakdowns to ensure proper resources are allocated to ensure minimal downtime
- Contractor management for planned & unplanned work requirements
