What do we need?

Reporting to the Director of Learning & Development, the primary function of the Instructional Writer is to develop and maintain consistency of company-wide learning curriculum and content. The Instructional Writer plays a meaningful role in the development of a successful and effective knowledge base. The role will be multi-faceted; meeting with stakeholders, documenting processes, and being responsible for transferring that knowledge into clear process document templates. These process documents will serve as the foundation for future content development efforts that the Instructional Writer will design, develop, and deliver to learners.

What will you provide?

  • Consistently demonstrates Aspirion's values.
  • Provides world class instructional design skills to support design and development of customer-specific learning programs and technology implementations

  • Work directly with process and system SMEs to identify learning objectives and translate into learning content that support learning needs
  • Develops course outlines and design documents; creates scripts and storyboards for various delivery methods for our customers
  • Independently leads design and development projects including regular meetings with all stakeholders and consistent communication of status and implementation updates
  • Proactively recommend continuous improvement changes that support Aspirion KPIs
  • Collaborate with L&D partners to support Department deliverables and KPIs
  • Presents course design and materials to all stakeholder levels and incorporates feedback
  • Validates, delivers, and evaluates the final training program and/or job performance product
  • Ensures that the courses meet the learning objectives and makes necessary adjustments
  • Designs and develops performance measures for line of service-learning programs
  • Recommends appropriate learning strategies based on business priorities/objectives and learner needs
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

The following is a list of personal and professional competencies that must be present to succeed in this role

  • Demonstrated advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Excel, Teams, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience delivering vILT training, ideally via Microsoft Teams
  • Exceptional presentation/facilitation skills and written communication skills to varying management levels
  • Strong organizational, project management and multi-tasking skills with the ability to manage and prioritize concurrent projects
  • Must be able to self-motivate and demonstrate leadership skills with the ability to independently perform effectively
  • Comfort working in a fast paced, constantly evolving remote environment
  • Proficient knowledge of software designed for technical communication (Knowledge of these programs is a plus: Adobe Captivate, Adobe Creative Suite, Snagit, Visio)
  • Portfolio that demonstrates your ability to develop effective learning materials for various audiences
  • Experience creating standard operating procedures and process documents preferred

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in instructional design, professional writing, technical communication, or related field

  • 3-5 years' experience in instructional design/writing required
  • Healthcare, Medical Billing, or Revenue Cycle experience preferred
  • Training or teaching background is a plus
