(Remote) Intermediate Systems Administrator

A division of Harris; Systems & Software is seeking a Intermediate Systems Administrator to join our team.

This is a hands-on role where you will learn and gain experience both by doing and via training/certification opportunities. Success is measured by the operational improvements you contribute to both your team and the organization.

This remote role welcomes candidates anywhere in Canada and the US. This role requires travel up to 5% within North America. A valid visa/passport is required.

What your impact will be:

• Applying out of the box thinking to address customer technical needs
• Cloud and on-premises system provisioning, network setup and maintenance
• Working with development team to resolve application related issues
• Monitoring internal and customer system health
• Tier 2/3 technical support for internal and external customers (after hours support rotation required)
• Diagnosing and resolving operating system issues (performance problems, configuration issues, etc.)
• Administration of Linux and Windows servers
• Administration of Site-to-Site VPN tunnels, on-premise networking and cloud networking configuration
• Creating and maintaining technical documentation
• Implementing continuous improvement through automation
• Strategic improvement projects
• Educating users

What we are looking for:

• A bachelor's degree in the field of computer science, information science, information systems, or related field OR equivalent work experience in a systems admin role
• At least 3 years of experience/familiarity with Linux (Oracle, RHEL, CentOS) and Windows Server OS
• 3 years' Experience with Cloud Hosting/Architecture (Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure, etc.)
• Ability to travel up to 5% within North America

What would make you stand out:

• Relevant certifications are desirable, e.g., Red Hat Certified Engineer
• Experience with Automation: Bash Scripting/Systems programming and Ansible
• Experience migrating on-premises Linux and Windows systems to the cloud
