Remote Perforce System Administrator/Engineer #1225

Contract Length: 18 months

Work Location: Remote full time

Work Hours: Fulltime

Pay Rate: Starting at $38.00 an hour based on experience (Rate applies outside of WA., CA., & CO.)

We are seeking candidates with prior experience in administering Source Control systems. If this is something that's not in your toolbox but you'd be willing to learn, we'd love to hear from you!

During WFH or if remote, the following is required for this type of position

• Internet speed of at least 250Mbps download / 100 Mbps upload or 1 Gbps, wired connection preferred, to ensure work is not impacted by connectivity/latency issues
• Internet data is at a high or unlimited cap
• Make sure to run and repeat speed tests throughout the day, as it can fluctuate during peak hours
  • Candidates must provide a screenshot of their speed test result
  • Agency must include speed test screenshot as part of the submission process for consideration
• If candidate does not currently meet the network requirement:
  • Candidate is committing to meeting the network requirement by their start date if an offer is received and mutually accepted

Daily responsibilities

• Maintain and support perforce Infrastructure
• Perform regular maintenance tasks including application patching, database check-pointing and configuration changes
• Define and document standard run books and operating procedures
• Respond to Perforce monitoring and alerting, resolve performance issues and investigate problems
• Automate administrative tasks
• Provide root cause analysis for critical issues
• Participate in rotation of off-hours on-call support
• Primary support for Perforce (Helix Core) server and client management and maintenance
• Support and training for staff using Helix Swarm
• Support usage and conversion from branches to Perforce streams

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in system administration supporting Linux (RedHat/CentOS preferred) in areas such as automated OS installation and security best-practices, package management, machine provisioning and lifecycle management
• 5+ years relevant work experience in Application Support
• 3 years experience acting as a system administrator for Perforce running on Windows and Linux servers
• 5+ years' experience supporting Perforce usage in large organizations or enterprise environments
• Troubleshooting skills for both hardware, software and operating systems (Windows and Linux)
• Strong experience automating tasks using scripting
• Experience with config management / provisioning automation (e.g. Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
• Shares knowledge freely, assisting teammates in learning coding, systems engineering, etc., helping to raise the overall skill level of the team

Nice to have

• Extensive experience as a Perforce Administrator
• Experience deploying and supporting Kubernetes
• Experience with network service troubleshooting and configuration; DNS, DHCP, LDAP
• Proficiency with diagnostic and performance monitoring tools (Cacti, Zabbix, Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, Kibana, etc)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
