The eClinical Solutions Engineering team has true greenfield opportunities for software engineers who want to develop innovative revenue-generating products that are revolutionizing the life sciences industry. You will make an impact:
As a Principal Software Engineer, you will be a core member of the elluminate Product Development team. elluminate is a next generation data integration and analytics cloud platform that enables life sciences organizations to optimize the aggregation, standardization, and analysis of their data throughout the clinical development life cycle. You will be primarily responsible for the design and development of a core module for the platform and will be involved in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including reviewing functional specifications, design, development, unit testing, code reviews and release management.

Your day to day:• You lead the design, implementation, and delivery of successful large-scale, critical and/or highly complex software or software effort involving significant work. This can take the form of new software or a refactor of existing software. You heavily influence the design and write a significant portion of "critical path" code.• Your code, designs and implementation decisions set a great example to others. You provide insightful code reviews and take ownership of outcome. ("You 'ship it', you own it.") You work very efficiently and routinely deliver the right things.• Your design and code is viewed as the gold standard within the software development organization.• You are a pragmatic problem solver, applying judgment and experience to balance trade-offs between competing interests. You are flexible, adapting your approach to meet the needs of the team, project, and product.• You apply expert level technical skills and expertise to application architecture with a focus on scalability, maintainability, security, and performance.• You research and utilize new technologies on an ongoing basis.• You collaborate with the Software Quality Assurance team to test the system functionality.• You provide diagnostic support and fix defects as needed.• You ensure compliance with eClinical Solutions and industry quality standards, regulations, guidelines, and procedures.

Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Computer Science• 15+ years in software design and development using the Microsoft technology stack• Master level expertise in C# and ASP.Net MVC• Master level expertise in relational database concepts, including SQL queries, backend system design, data modeling and design, preferably in Microsoft SQL Server• Excellent understanding and application of software design principles, patterns, and practices• Strong Software Development Lifecycle experience in Agile/Scrum Methodology• Ability to write optimized, clean, and secure code that performs well and is easy to maintain• Effective documentation skills and ability to contribute to relevant software artifacts including architecture and design documents• Strong technical project management experience. Must be able to estimate work effort and manage timelines effectively to meet deadlines• Experience working with SQA Test Engineers in test driven design• Proven ability to work independently as well as with other team members• Must be a critical thinker and able to analyze and evaluate trade-offs in making design decisions• Excellent verbal and written communication skills• Experience with IoT or Big Data development is a plus• Working knowledge in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and Angular is a plus
