Job Description:

Parsons is looking for a talented Principal Systems Engineer to join our Mission Solutions team!

In this mostly remote/work from home role you will get to support development of an exciting new space and ground capability for the United States Space Force. Our approach to systems engineering for this program embraces model-based systems engineering (MBSE), where a single digital model serves as the Authoritative Source of Truth (ASOT) for all vendors across the entire development lifecycle. Engineering documentation such as requirements, interface control documents, verification plans, architecture diagrams, and service implementation details are generated from this centralized model repository. The model integrates with spacecraft vendor models, to ensure end-to-end interoperability and effective communication across all stakeholders.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Support the development and integration of the MEO Track Custody ground environment.
  • Support MTC ground segment systems engineering to include requirements derivation, mapping to architecture, high-level design and detail design and capturing in design configuration-controlled artifacts and documentation.
  • Provide program support to include, but not limited to inputs for Program documentation in support of a Major Transition Acquisition (ex. System Engineering Plan (SEP), Test Engineering Management Plan (TEMP), Program Protection Plan (PPP), Lifecycle Sustainment Plan (LCSP)).
  • Coordinate with contractors and the Program Office (PO) for the design and the integration of MTC Ground capabilities into the TAP Lab. Those capabilities include user/operator workspaces and collaboration areas, data center resources and space, network and communications, cybersecurity, shared infrastructure services, and standard operating procedures and tenant support activities.
  • Up to 10% travel may be required

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or an equivalent technical/scientific discipline and 10+ years of experience
  • No clearance required to start, but you must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance, which requires US citizenship
  • Experience in modeling and simulation (M&S) and CAMEO systems modeler for those supporting M&S
  • Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering
  • Experience in Space to Ground and Ground to Ground ICD development and maintenance
  • Experience in requirements derivation
  • Demonstrated ability to lead integration Technical Interchange Meetings
  • Demonstrated ability to develop CONOPS and use-cases
  • Demonstrated experience in the development of High-Level Designs

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Active TS/SCI
  • Ability to develop system architectures
  • Ability to lead special studies relevant to ground systems for spaceborne assets
  • Working knowledge of Overhead Persistent InfraRed systems and architecture
