We are looking for a Senior Accountant (Higher Education Industry) to join our Outsourcing-Business Operations (BizOps) group. In our BizOps group we provide customized long-term finance and accounting solutions. This position provides an outstanding opportunity to grow your career as you contribute to the success of clients' businesses or organizations. This is a full-time, 100% remote/work-from-home, long-term career opportunity serving multiple CLA clients on a permanent, part-time basis; it is not an outsourced temporary position.

As a Senior Accountant, you will

• Support multiple clients, software, and chart of accounts on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
• Oversee Staff and manage the accounting function for smaller clients.
• Complete account reconciliations (i.e. bank & credit card reconciliations, prepaids, accounts receivable, fixed assets, accounts payable, accruals, investments, debt, industry specific, etc.)
• Prepare, understand and review financial statements.
• Review of General Ledger, cashflow; allocations, etc.
• Understand business/organization operations of the client.
• Create process and procedure documentation, with backup.
• Other Quarterly or Annual Processing: Sales Tax Returns, Form 1099's, audit Workpaper preparation, Tax Return Workpaper preparation and other forms or items as requested by clients.
• Special Projects: Assist with projects for internal audit, due diligence, system selection, and other consulting projects.

Our ideal candidate will have

• 2-3 years of relative work experience as a Staff Accountant or equivalent.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field OR Associates degree in Accounting or related field plus 5 years of accounting experience OR Associates in unrelated field plus Accounting Certificate plus 5 years of accounting experience.
• Technical knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Intacct, Xero, Bill.com, Expensify) and other applicable software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
• Experience reviewing and preparing financial statements.
• Public Accounting and/or higher education industry experience preferred, but not required.
• Ability to work successfully from home.

Compensation strategy statement:

Our approach to compensation emphasizes collaboration and career growth. We pay competitive wages and view compensation as an investment in our people. Factors such as geography, experience, education, skills, and knowledge may impact position of pay within the range. These same factors may cause starting pay to be below or above the posted range. For Colorado, the range for this position is $60,000-$80,000.
