First American is looking for a passionate, energetic, and motivated Sr. Front-end Engineer to join our Business Technology Solutions based in Santa Ana, CA. As First American continues building cloud native products, a front-end engineer is required to help build exciting, responsive interfaces in a complex product.

How You'll Contribute
We are looking for an experienced JavaScript/Typescript developer who is proficient with React. The primary focus of the selected candidate would be on developing user interface components, implementing, and executing them following well-known React workflows (such as Flux or Redux). Also, ensuring that these components and the overall application are robust and easy to manage. A commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and quality products are important.
What You'll Bring
• Collaborate with product and design teams to create user-friendly and responsive web applications that meet business requirements
• Develop and maintain high-quality code using React.js, TypeScript, Redux, and other relevant technologies
• Build reusable components and front-end libraries for future use
• Ensure that UI is scalable for high loads, secure, and optimized for performance
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure that code meets quality standards
• Design to support multiple browsers and WCAG compliance
• Translate designs and wireframes into high-quality code
• Interact with multiple teams working on multi-tiered architecture
• Mentor junior staff to grow their skills
Technical Skills
• Thorough understanding of React.js, its core principles and workflows
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/Typescript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model
• Knowledge of useMemo, useCallback and hooks in general
• Understanding of design patterns, state management and data structures
• Familiarity with more current specifications of EcmaScript
• Prior experience with data structure libraries (e.g., Immutable.js)
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs. GraphQL a plus
• Knowledge of HTML / CSS / SCSS / SASS / LESS / TailwindCss
• Experience creating unit tests using Jest, Mocha or equivalent
• Experience with browser-based debugging and performance testing
• Experience with git
• Exposure to AWS and/or Playwright a plus
• Knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms, such as JSON Web Token
• Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools
• Experience with common front-end development tools such as Babel, Webpack, NPM, etc.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Pay Range: $108,240 - $191,125 Annually
This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location
