Working in the service Support department, the Remote Support Engineer will interface with UT/IST internal resources to support the essential job duties listed below. These duties will be fulfilled by interacting with, Operations, and Engineering departments, as assigned, for security system design and implementation as well as various other support tasks. The selected candidate will be responsible for coordinating internal resources to drive completion of projects. This position reports directly to the RST Support Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work closely with engineering and business development resources to design security systems based on client-provided specifications as well as industry standard practices.
- Site surveys as deemed necessary to support system design and/or documentation updates.
- Support for RFP review/response to include requirements assessment and drawing takeoffs.
- Bill of materials development and equipment specification.
- System deployment and commissioning, as needed.
Requirements
- 5-7 years' technical experience in Access Control, Video Surveillance and Network Design.
- Experience in security system design for healthcare, government, K-12 and higher education environments.
- Experience with one or more of the followings software platforms is required:
- Genetec, Software House, Lenel, Gallagher, and Milestone.
- A bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience (4+ years) with a technical focus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (i.e. Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.).
- Team oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Hands-on experience with one or more of the security manufacturers noted above.
