This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Remote VP, Advocacy & Research. In this impactful leadership role, you will guide a talented team of researchers and advocates to drive policy change at the federal and provincial levels, shaping public discourse and building deep relationships with government stakeholders. Your leadership will oversee national advocacy strategies and collaborate across departments and the food bank network to address root causes of food insecurity. With a focus on innovation and inclusion, you will play a central role in transforming responses to hunger in Canada, making this position both meaningful and captivating for the right candidate.

Accountabilities

  • Expand and nurture relationships with all parties on Parliament Hill and across legislatures.
  • Oversee strategic development of federal and provincial policy recommendations related to food bank operations.
  • Align advocacy and research strategies with broader organizational goals and priorities.
  • Manage departmental expense budget with input from relevant managers.
  • Identify opportunities to improve national advocacy efforts addressing root causes of food bank use.
  • Collaborate on all research projects to maximize network impact.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including board members and food bank leaders.
  • Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent with a minimum of 8 years’ experience in a senior political or policy role.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) is a strong asset.
  • Experience in developing and managing budgets with financial acumen.
  • Proven experience leading and motivating a cross-functional team.
  • Innovative thinker with a track record of building strategic partnerships.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of influencing stakeholders.
