Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for requirements analysis and requirements management within Clarios Engineering & Product Development. These responsibilities include capturing customer requirements, reconciling requirements between competing customers' demands, support cascading the requirements to subsystems and components, validating that the established requirements meet customer needs (internal and external).

What you will do:

  • Execute the analysis and management of requirements starting with product technology applications and support decomposing those requirements down to subsystems and components to guide product development design direction
  • Receive requirements from Clarios customer contacts, but also work directly with customers in identifying specific product deliverables and specifications
  • Perform reconciliation to meet product targets, including historical test data as well as simulation data or available vehicle battery application knowledge
  • Utilizing existing modelling and simulation tools to make predictions and recommendations based on data
  • Validate that the established requirements meet customer needs (internal and external) and translating customers' needs into working documents
  • Predict product requirements to anticipate next generation customer needs to support next generation product programs
  • Verify that requirements meet customer needs (both internal and external) in dependence of project gate (Requirements Sign-Offs).
  • Apply requirements tools for managing requirements according to the requirements analysis process
  • Mentoring other engineering team members about the requirements analysis process, customer test specifications, requirements trends and specific applications
  • Perform requirements review in RFQ and RFI process
  • Support activities in regard of internal / external standardization if required
  • Apply internal and external standards in the requirements management process
  • Support in identifying safety related requirements

What we look for:

  • Require Bachelor in Engineering
  • Masters in Engineering, Materials Science or a related field - preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a development role or advanced engineering role
  • Ability to work cross functionally with design engineering, technical account management, customers and program management
  • Must have a working knowledge of various Battery systems, subsystems and components and preferably Li-ion or lead acid batteries.
  • Solid knowledge in battery design, failure mechanisms, and lab testing and the implication to battery performance and life.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to grasp technical publications and texts quickly and extract/compile the relevant information
  • Detail oriented working style
  • Basic understanding of systems engineering fundamentals and processes preferred
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization
  • Fluent in English and excellent communication skills
  • Excellent Team player
