Research Analyst - Fortune Key Lists and Rankings

Research Analyst

Reports to: VP, Research

Location: NYC

We are seeking a Research Analyst with expertise in Excel and quantitative analysis to join the Fortune Analytics team in expanding Fortune's key lists and rankings and serving clients with our signature methodologies and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development, creation, and publication of quantitative lists—both existing and new—using sophisticated research and Excel techniques.
• Conduct data analysis to identify trends, market segments, and insights for internal use and for clients and partners.
• Collaborate with the Europe and Asia analytics teams to ensure data accuracy and compliance with Fortune's proprietary methodologies.
• Support content creation by providing data-driven insights to editorial, marketing, and sales teams.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation and databases, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
• Read, analyze, and collect financial data from company annual reports and filings. Understand company financial ratios, markets, and world currencies.
• Manage, maintain, and update Fortune databases and other tools used to generate tables, charts and other information for stories and special issues.
• Work with outside vendors of financial and economic reporting services to generate tables, charts, and other key data for franchise features.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in research, data analysis, or a related field.
• Knowledge of business metrics and data strongly preferred.
• Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and complex formulae as well as the ability to use research tools such as LSEG Refinitiv and/or Bloomberg Professional
• Strong quantitative analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
• Degree in Economics, Statistics, Business, or a related field.

Compensation: Base Salary 65,000.00 - 85,000.00
