Research Assistant Intern, Health Solutions - Winter 2023 (January - April)

Position Summary
As a Research Assistant Intern supporting League’s Health Solutions team, this intern will be responsible for supporting League’s health behavior change initiative in health content and programming. In this role, you’ll be working both independently and collaboratively across our Editorial and Strategy & Governance content teams to ensure that our health content incorporates evidence-based techniques to facilitate and evaluate health behavior change in our members. You’ll have the opportunity to inform the direction of League’s accessible and personalized health content for users, empowering them to live healthier and happier lives.

In this role, you will:

• Conduct literature searches to identify existing literature in the field of health promotion and behavior change
• Conduct literature reviews and synthesize evidence into action-based recommendations to support the integration of behavior change techniques in health content
• Identify behavioral and patient-reported outcome measures that can be leveraged to evaluate content and program outcomes
• Build and maintain a repository of research evidence accessible to the broader team as supporting documentation demonstrating the evidence-based nature of programming
• Assist with coding health content using the Behavior Change Technique Taxonomy
• Assist with maintaining documentation of outcome measures utilized in program assessments
• Gain exposure to and assist with the development of digital health content and programming integrating behavior change techniques as needed
• Manage multiple projects and consistently meet deadlines within the team’s workflows and processes

What you bring:

• Bachelor’s degree or current 4th year Bachelor’s student in Psychology, Behavioral Science, or Health and Life Sciences.
• Work or study experience in an academic or clinical research setting.
• You’re a skilled researcher: You know how to effectively conduct literature searches, critically analyze studies and their findings, and synthesize evidence into actionable insights. You are also familiar with various research methods (e.g., quantitative and qualitative).
• You are systematic and detail oriented: You can thoroughly document a literature review, maintain a database, and regularly update documentation as a source of truth.

Nice to have:

• Work or research experience related to specifically to health promotion, behavior change, or behavioral science
• Knowledge or research experience related to the Behavior Change Technique (BCT) Taxonomy
• Experience or interest in the development of health content and health promotion programs
• Familiarity or experience with reference management software (e.g., Zotero, Mendeley)
• Proficiency in Google Workspace (G Suite), Mac OS, Slack
