We’re building direct-from-specimen phenotypic rapid ID/AST assays using live cells on our proprietary instrument and consumable platform.

We’re seeking a motivated, passionate Research Associate or Associate Scientist to join our Assay Research Team dedicated to advancing our novel assay and consumable technology. This team tackles a diverse set of problems, such as developing our novel biochemical assay, creating innovative sample prep solutions for multiple sample types, and collaborating with internal and external partners to conduct studies using Pattern's system. In this role, your responsibilities will include assisting Scientists with executing experiments, data management, and specimen and sample preparation. Over time, you will have the opportunity to manage projects and design experiments independently.

  • Are capable of working independently, and enjoy communicating and working in a collaborative setting
  • Are a curious, continuous learner and seek to see the big picture as well as the details

Desired Education and Experience

  • Preference for experience with microbiology
  • 1-2 years of hands-on laboratory experience is required (may include internships or research assistant positions during undergrad)
  • Familiarity with the following skills: aseptic technique, pipetting, bacterial growth, biochemical assay development, and other general wet lab bench skills (pipetting, titrating, media prep, etc.)
