About Treeline

Treeline Biosciences is an innovative biotechnology company, founded by an experienced team of biopharmaceutical scientists and executives, committed to developing new medicines against difficult to drug targets in cancer and other life-threatening diseases. We are pursuing a uniquely integrated approach that applies modern and emerging tools in genomics, lead discovery, medicinal chemistry, and computation to reduce the time and risks of drug discovery.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and highly motivated Research Associate to join our San Diego team to support the teamโ€™s delivery of high-quality scientific data that drive small molecule drug discovery. The successful candidate will have a critical role in supporting Treelineโ€™s drug discovery programs by collaborating closely with the multi-disciplinary Lead Discovery organization across biophysics, biochemistry, structural biology, and protein production, as well as the broader organization including biology, computational chemistry, and medicinal chemistry. Specifically, you will carry out and optimize biophysical assays (i.e.. SPR, DSF) to characterize protein-small molecule and protein-protein interactions. The ideal candidate will work closely across the biochemistry and biophysics team to plan, carry out, and interpret experiments and communicate the results to broad audiences within Treeline R&D.

Responsibilities:

  • As a member of the Lead Discovery group, utilize a variety of biophysical assays to identify, validate, and characterize small molecule ligand and protein target interactions.
  • The primary aim will be to develop and execute robust SPR assays as primary or orthogonal drug discovery screening cascade.
  • In collaboration with project teams, establish SAR to rapidly drive the hit finding, hit-to-lead, and lead optimization process.

Qualifications:

  • B.S./M.S. degree with 2+ years of relevant experience in biophysics, biochemistry, biology, chemical biology or equivalent
  • Experience in SPR assay development for assessing protein-small molecule and protein-protein interactions.
  • Additional experience with other biophysical methods (DSF, MST, ITC) is a plus.
  • Excellent presentation skills (written and oral) that enhance team-based delivery of results.
  • Ability to work effectively and deliver results within defined timelines and to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team.

This position is classified as exempt. The anticipated annual base salary range for candidates who will work in San Diego is $76,624 to $102,018. The final base salary offered to the successful candidate will be dependent upon several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the job, education, and other factors. Treeline Biosciences is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other cities or states.
