Position Summary:
We are looking for a talented & driven Research Associate II or Senior Research Associate to join our Analytical Department and to play a key role in the development and execution of a variety of test methods required for biological products. Relevant assays will include SEC-HPLC, CEX-HPLC, RP-HPLC, ELISA, qPCR, Western blot, SDS-page, IEF, and other assays that may be required. The analytical development Research Associate or Senior Research Associate will conduct routine testing to support process development, characterization, and formulation study of recombinant protein products. Level will be commensurate with experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in the optimization, execution, troubleshooting, and qualification of biochemical assays to support characterization of Synthekine’s drug candidates
- Conduct routine testing to support process development and optimization
- Be involved in developing new test methods to characterize recombinant proteins to support pre-clinical and clinical development
- Troubleshoot, propose next steps, or suggest alternate strategies within complex systems and assays
- Ordering, installation, and maintenance of laboratory instruments, equipment, and assay materials.
- Be involved in writing analytical protocols, reports, and SOPs.
- Communicate experimental findings accurately and concisely in both oral and written form
- Analyze, document and report laboratory data in accordance with Synthekine’s standards and procedures
- Present at group meetings
Requirements:
- RA II Level: BS in biological science or similar fields with 2-4 years of experience in an assay development or quality control environment.
- Senior RA Level: BS in biological science or similar fields with 4+ years of experience in an assay development or quality control environment. Or MS in biological science or similar fields with 2+ years of experience in an assay development or quality control environment.
- Experience with standard lab skills strongly preferred (i.e. ELISA, protein sample preparation, qPCR, HPLC, SDS-PAGE, IEF, Western blot).
- Strong and collaborative work ethic; must be a self-starter and persistent in achieving objectives to support Synthekine’s scientific and business goals
- Self-motivated with the ability to work collaboratively
- Able to communicate plans and results effectively in both oral and written form.
- Ability to work in a fast paced and highly dynamic collaborative team environment.
The anticipated salary range for the position of Research Associate II/Sr. Research Associate based in our Menlo Park, CA office is $86,000 to $104,750 (Research Associate II); $97,000 to $117,250 (Sr. Research Associate). The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type, and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Synthekine is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states. We comply with all state federal and local laws regarding pay practices.
