Job Description

The Organization

What's happening at Entrada Therapeutics? Our mission is to transform the treatment of devastating diseases and improve patients' quality of life using intracellular biologics. Leveraging our proprietary Endosomal Escape Vehicle (EEV)™ platform, we are creating and advancing a diverse pipeline of oligonucleotide, enzyme, protein, and peptide programs to efficiently target and engage underlying drivers of diseases.

Our novel approach to drug design and delivery addresses current challenges associated with both large and small molecule therapeutics and represents a fundamental advancement in the field of intracellular biologics.

We're a tight-knit team of experts and leaders in both therapeutics development and rare disease and are excited to grow and attract colleagues who are ready to join a high energy, dedicated team that likes to get things done and dramatically improve the lives of patients and their families.

The Perfect Fit

You should be a self-motivated and highly collaborative scientist looking forward to rolling up your sleeves, as you’ll be involved in several aspects of our protein engineering group. Your background should be in chemistry or biology, with experience in the biophysical and biochemical characterization of engineered antibodies, enzymes, or oligonucleotides. You’ll work side-by-side with others in your group to help develop innovative medicines for treating some of the most challenging diseases.

The Opportunity

In this role you will be responsible for producing and characterizing scalable antibody-EEV and enzyme-EEV conjugate libraries. You will have the opportunity to work with a range of assays and techniques, such as LC-MS, Octet BLI, flow cytometry, and confocal microscopy, to screen biologics for enhanced intracellular activity. There will be other more standard components to the role like managing and ordering chemicals and supplies, as well as preparing procedures and other reports. There will also be opportunities to present data and research findings at internal meetings.

The Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Downstream CMC and Discovery Chemistry groups to acquire materials for subsequent EEV, Oligo, and protein conjugations.
  • Perform conjugation optimization experiments using SDS-PAGE and nanodrop UV-Vis to develop protocols for further scale-up.
  • Characterize protein conjugate libraries (SDS-PAGE, LC-MS, and/or enzymatic assays) while coordinating with Analytical and Pharmacology groups for construct QC and in vivo testing respectively.
  • Conduct experiments to critically assess in vitro assays (e.g., enzyme kinetics, serum stability, mammalian cell culture, etc.) and their applicability in lead identification.
  • Ensure reagents for conjugation experiments are well stocked and keep a detailed record of all experiments in a digital lab notebook.
  • Present updates regularly in the protein conjugation small group meetings.

The Necessities

At Entrada, our passion for science, our devotion to patients and our values drive our behavior:

  • Humanity - We genuinely care about patients and about one another.
  • Tenacity - We are relentless and persistent in the pursuit of developing therapies for patients.
  • Creativity - We are creative problem solvers.
  • Collaboration - We are more than the sum of our parts.
  • Curiosity - We have a growth mindset and push conventional thought and theory.

To thrive on our team, you will need to come with:

  • BS/BA in biochemistry, chemistry, chemical biology, or a related field with 2 - 6 years related experience OR MA/MS degree in a related field with 0 - 4 years related experience; Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience working with engineered proteins and/or protein conjugates (i.e., purification, assay development, enzyme kinetics, etc.).
  • The ability to critically assess experimental results, troubleshoot, and come up with creative and effective solutions.
  • The drive to have a more complete understanding of project goals to effectively manage your time and prioritize experiments.

The Perks

By becoming a team member here at Entrada, you’ll have access to competitive health, dental, and vision coverage, as well as life insurance, and short term and long-term disability insurance. We value work life balance, you'll benefit from discretionary time off, paternity leave, and an excellent 401(k) package. We also offer a generous transportation stipend to commute as you wish. Our location in the vibrant and growing Seaport District is close to all the best that the city of Boston has to offer.
