What You Will Contribute to Altos

In this role, you will play an integral part of the daily activities of the Mass Spectrometry (MS) Innovation Hub at Altos Labs, and will help advance research projects central to the overall metabolomics/lipidomics/proteomics effort at Altos. To this end, you will assist with developing and implementing methods to identify and quantify metabolites, lipids and peptides for cells, tissues, and other biological matrices. This includes sample preparation, management of isotopically labeled standards, preparing buffers and reagents, and processing data using various software programs. You will also perform lab management tasks, such as ordering reagents and equipment, and documenting method development notes, protocols, and standard operating procedures. Importantly, you will receive relevant training and mentorship from senior members of the group and will have the opportunity to grow and manage projects.

Who You Are

We are seeking applicants with the following qualifications. The level of the position will depend on the qualifications of the selected candidate.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree with a strong analytical background in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, biotechnology, bioengineering, or related fields.
  • Strong wet-laboratory skills with 2+ years of experience in a research laboratory.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrate initiative and flexibility.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to independently meet project timelines. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience working in an analytical chemistry laboratory.
  • Familiarity with LC/MS instrumentation.
  • Experience with the preparation of metabolomics, proteomic and lipidomic samples.

Salary range: Research Associate I, 83,300-112,700; Research Associate II, 97,750-132,250; Senior Research Associate, 109,650-148,350
