Research Intern 2024

The Role   

As a Research Intern, you will develop data solutions that power both our trading and data businesses, leveraging MarketAxess' proprietary platform data. You will help build out our suite of products including analytics, our award-winning CP+ pricing, and other AI-driven solutions that address key trading decisions: What, How and When to trade, as well as Who to trade with. Your work will be a combination of long-term and immediate impact projects, with the goal of making the fixed income trading landscape more efficient, transparent, and competitive. How You'll Help Take Us There 

• Leverage MarketAxess’ unique data to build new products and reports. 
• Take ownership of existing research models and reports. 
• Analyze corporate bond market activity and market micro-structure. 
• Work closely with global product and development teams to enrich client trading solutions.   
• Other duties as assigned. 

What We're Looking for  

• Working towards an undergraduate (bachelors) or graduate (masters, PhD) degree in a quantitative field (science, engineering, mathematics, or statistics is preferred), graduating in Dec 2024 or May 2025. 
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States permanently without employment visa sponsorship required now or in the future. 
• Superb interpersonal skills. 
• Highly analytical, flexible and creative problem solver. 
• Well-organized, team-oriented, intellectually curious, and proactive. 
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills. This will ultimately require a mix of advanced querying / programming capabilities including R/Python, SQL, AWS, Tableau, and possibly intermediate machine learning.
• Introductory understanding of US and global fixed income markets.
• Strong data capabilities, including working with complex datasets.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills. 

For job positions in NYC, NY, and other locations where required, the estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $35.00 USD to $40.00 USD per hour. Actual salary may vary depending on job-related factors, which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
