Overview of Position:

Ichor is seeking a research scientist to support our biophysics team. If you are motivated by playing an integral role in advancing the development of therapeutic treatments that will help people live longer, healthier lives then we are interested in getting to know you.

Position Duties:

• Through wet-laboratory and literature research techniques, generate novel scientific value by initiating and monitoring scientific research and development critical to corporate strategies
• May serve as Study Director for designated studies to ensure scientific integrity of planned and executed research activities
• Serve as subject matter expert in the area of biophysics and x-ray crystallography
• Instruct and, as necessary, train junior laboratory members in novel methods or techniques
• The work will include construct design, biochemical and biophysical characterization, crystallization, x-ray data collection, structure determination and analysis
• Additional duties, as assigned

Desired Skills/Knowledge:

• Technical writing and strong communication skills to convey complex information to audiences of various backgrounds and education levels
• Computer literacy and the ability to work with an electronic laboratory notebook (ELN)
• Proven ability in all aspects of protein crystallography from construct design through structure determination and analysis
• Experience in the crystallization of protein-small molecular and protein-protein complexes
• Proficiency in protein biochemical and biophysical assays
• Detail-oriented, highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and deliver quality data

Required Education/Experience:

• Possession of a PhD in biophysics, structural biology, biochemistry, or related discipline from an accredited college or university; candidates enrolled in a relevant graduate program will be considered

• Must be able to occasionally lift up to 40 lbs
• Ability work safely and wear required, company-provided PPE
