 Description:

The Research Scientist/Engineer will provide hands-on technical support for Polyolefin Catalyst Development.  Assist in the advancement and development of control systems, catalysts, products and/or processes.   

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Ensure that applicable safety practices are followed and that personnel are informed of possible hazards while performing assigned tasks.
  • Running reactor and analytical equipment to test catalyst performance.
  • Conduct analytical tests and demonstrate consistency and quality results.
  • Maintenance, troubleshooting, and small repairs of laboratory equipment.
  • Maintaining calibrations and maintenance records for testing methods to ensure reliability of results.
  • Development of new test methods.
  • Summarizing data, drawing conclusions, and making recommendations.
  • Participating in the development of experimental designs and conducting experiments.
Requirements:
  • A strong personal safety philosophy, be driven to deliver and document quality results.
  • Self-motivated and pro-active and able to multitask.
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills, demonstrate critical judgment in decision-making, and have the ability to follow detailed procedures (including safety procedures).
  • Must be inquisitive, always willing to learn new things and grow in responsibilities.
Preferred Skills, Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering. 
  • 5 years industry or previous laboratory experience, particularly with catalyst testing and characterization.
  • Experience in quality systems, practices and standards, and HES highly preferred.
