Ballast Research is a growing consulting, research, and data firm that helps government affairs professionals improve their advocacy to state and local policymakers. Ballast works with clients across the private, public, and social sector to create in-depth quantitative and qualitative research, benchmarking, and other diagnostic tools that enhance strategic planning.

The Research Team

Each year, our Research Team conducts quantitative surveys and hundreds of expert interviews with federal and state policymakers and other key stakeholders to understand their perceptions of prominent companies, associations, and nonprofits. Our Research Team works closely with policymakers to gather high-quality data that captures their opinions and insights on the private sector.

Across the research team, the most successful candidates have the following qualifications:

• Experience managing projects from beginning to end, with strong attention to detail
• A drive to continually improve processes
• Strong time management and prioritization skills
• Excellent communication and writing skills
• Strong analytical thinking skills, including the ability to synthesize ideas and provide recommendations
• Academic or professional background conducting quantitative and qualitative research
