THE ROLE
The Resource Manager works with the Professional Services team to drive and execute the resource planning process. The individual will manage daily responsibilities and projects independently and influence multiple stakeholders. This role will work with the Professional Services and Business Operations teams to continuously improve the resource management processes and functions (utilization, staffing assignments, escalations, sub-contracting, resource optimization) ensuring that effective management of internal and external resources and allows the company to be more competitive. They need to identify key business risks in a timely manner and mitigate or escalate the concern at the right time or influence the stakeholders to get the item addressed. The Resource Manager keys to success is the ability to prioritize multiple assignments and manage processes concurrently within Professional Services and the Partner community.
WHAT YOU WILL DO IN THIS ROLE
- Lead weekly reviews with the Professional Services Team (solution consultants, team leads, and regional heads of services) to plan consultant assignments, review bookings, work through conflicts, and identify opportunities for consultants
- Optimize utilization by making staffing decisions in support of the deployment strategy for the business
- Handle staffing escalations from start to finish ensuring that the business is supported throughout the process and resource management process is followed
- Drive system and process improvement initiatives to strengthen the resource management process within the practice and identify regular opportunities to adapt as the business grows;
- Proactively spot forecasted bench time for consultants and work with the resource management team to ensure that the practice team are identified for the right opportunities
- Build strong relationships with client-facing professionals to become a known and reliable resource that understands both the development needs and assignment preferences of these individuals and can make client assignment decisions that balance development, business and personal needs
- Manage 3rd party subcontractor relationships; including contracting and payment
- Help with continuous improvement of the Resource Planning function and processes
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE
- 3+ years experience and ability to engage at Senior levels
- Ability to manage and resolve complex and sensitive situations
- Ability to prioritize tasks appropriately
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with teams
- Ability to manage confidential information appropriately and professionally
WHAT ELSE WOULD BE GREAT
- BA or BS Degree
- Knowledge of the Salesforce platform
- Knowledge of ERP or other business software solutions at scale
