Education: Bachelor’s degree in a Health and Human Services field or currently enrolled in an advanced degree program. Education may be substituted with at least 5 years of experience in a related field.

Experience: Required 2 years related direct experience serving families. 

Supervises: None

Summary: The Resource Navigator is responsible for using sound professional judgment and best practices to ensure quality services are provided to the service population while maintaining compliance with established program standards.

Essential Functions:
1. Outreach and recruitment of participants for Family Resource Center activities.
2. Establish and maintain a trusting and professional working relationship with families by providing regular contact.
3. Administer intake, assessments, and screening tools to clients and family members.
Utilize intake and assessment results to establish and effectively implement goals, objectives, and activities identified with parents.
4. Provide intensive case management services to families. Provide service planning and coordination, resource and referrals, basic needs support, transportation assistance, and/or other support services to families on caseload.
4. Conduct systematic follow-up for all families.
5. Record all group and individualized services and activities in a complete, concise, and timely manner utilizing program forms into PEIRS (DFPS) and Salesforce (BCFS) software.
6. Meet with supervisor on a bi-weekly basis to evaluate status of families on caseload.
7. Meet all deliverables as outlined in contract.

Measurable Deliverables:
1. Collaborate with Program Director and Family Engagement and Education 
Coordinator to provide family activities/workshops, basic needs, and caregiver 
support groups to 327 families annually.
2. Maintain accurate documentation in Salesforce and PEIRS within specified timeframes.
3. Attend all required annual trainings.
4. Provide community education on child abuse prevention strategies, and program initiatives.
5. Develop together with Program Director and Family Engagement and Education
Coordinator, updates, reminders, and community education information monthly.

Credentials, Skills and Abilities:
1. Maintain current licenses and certificates required for the position including but not limited to:
• First Aid
• CPR
2. Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens and maintain emotional control, and professional composure at all times.
3. Provide proof or work eligibility status upon request.
4. Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background and motor vehicle check 5. Demonstrate the ability to:
a. Respond sensitively and competently to the service population’s cultural and
socio-economic characteristics.
b. Communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English and Spanish.
c. Work in a fast-paced environment.
d. Maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position.
e. Work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
f. Travel as needed.
g. Manage time effectively and efficiently.
