ABOUT THE ROLE

Do you have a passion for small and medium businesses? How about, specifically, athletic speciality retail stores? Wow, try saying that 5 times fast. 

Are you the person who goes to a local bike shop (or whatever - run, golf, racquet sport shops - we’re not picky) just because you love talking about the latest and greatest products? Do you love BS-ing with the store owner about what’s selling and “why did such-and-such brand change their flagship such-and-such product this year because it sucks compared to the 2018 edition?” 

Did you read The Art of War? Or were you Lao Tzu’s inspiration behind the book because you’re an expert in retail strategy and that’s pretty much the same thing as 5th Century BC warfare? 

If you answered “Obvi” to everything above, you might be the Retail Sales and Planning Lead we are looking for! A super star who loves building retail strategies, sales, marketing, and finding ways to uplevel our in-store customer experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serve as the lead strategist for our 1,000s of North America athletic and specialty retail store partners focusing on growth and program improvements
• Leading retail store programs across multiple teams to ensure customer experiences are world-class or better (interplanetary awards are coming soon, probably)
• Offer knowledge of retail strategy and best practices to ensure growth in our specialty retail channel
• Reviewing and vetting new retail store applications as well as following up personally to ensure goodr’s placement in the retail landscape is awe-inspiring
• Outreach to potential new retail stores who haven’t yet applied, but should! 
• Liaising with Creative, Operations, Activations, and Digital teams to request, schedule and execute retail speciality store programs in a timely manner
• Communicating progress and key information with relevant department heads so that we never miss a beat
• Track and analyze analytics so that we can continue to sharpen our retail and customer experiences
• Perform other related duties as assigned
• Wrangle unicorns and tend to the octopus garden
• Becoming BFF’s (friendship bracelets highly encouraged) with our retail partners

ABOUT THE IDEAL CANDIDATE 

• May or may not have a degree...we don’t care (bonus points for Basset Hound Science or Dinosaur Law)
• Loves everything above
• Asks a lot of questions
• Proven working experience with athletic speciality retail stores
• Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
• Strong working knowledge of Asana is a BIG plus
• A self-starter who can rely on their skill in prioritizing and organizing their workflow to coordinate multiple departments
• Mad bonus if you are a GTDer
• Dependable with the willingness to take the initiative to work collaboratively and with a sense of urgency
• Loves the work more than a paycheck
• Thinks planning and organizing are fun
• Loves to create order out of chaos
• Is happy to give away credit to their team
• Loves getting and giving feedback
• Is into personal growth
• Thinks Fun is being great (not partying)
• Be proactive and an independent problem solver! (Can you google a question?)
