Appstar, a leader in POS technology and payment processing services, is seeking the right candidate to join our sales and retention team as a Retention Representative.  This team member plays an integral role in upselling or cross selling new products to existing customers and retaining current customers. The ideal candidate for this role is outgoing, loves sales and customer relations, is a great negotiator and a fantastic problem solver.  

The Retention Representative is an advocate for our organization, a master in persuasion and enjoys turning a challenging situation into a win.  They thrive in closing a deal, winning a conversation and helping a customer reach their business goals with our solutions. The  Retention Representative possesses a strong background in sales, problem solving has excellent people skills and is highly energetic.  They play a key role in our long-term retention and growth strategies.

What you do:

  • Place outbound calls to current customers offering new equipment, services or solutions to grow or improve their business.
  • Communicate the value proposition of our partner’s products, services, and solutions in an articulate persuasive manner.
  • Field incoming calls from customers wanting to cancel, reduce rates, or change their existing program.
  • De escalate situations with customers, turning a challenging conversation into a winning relationship.
  • Negotiate pricing, rates, leases with existing customers, past customer or new customers.
  • Build rapport with customers, providing solutions and upselling POS systems.
  • Provide proactive outreach to customers on product updates, changes or new services and improvements.

  • Fearless ability to talk to anyone via the phone
  • A solution-oriented attitude, with the ability to deescalate
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong passion for serving customers, particularly via outbound communication

Your Knowledge & Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years of sales or retention experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis on communication, marketing, or business
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding quotas in customer acquisition
  • Previous Sales, Customer Service, Retention or Account Management experience
  • Ability to understand and speak Spanish a plus

 What we offer:

  • Competitive Salary (Hourly $25 per hour plus commission) OTE $65,000-$70,000
