Revenue Accountant

Yext is seeking a Revenue Accountant who is positive and highly motivated to learn and grow within a fast-paced organization. This is a hands-on position with a mix of accounting and operational duties. This role will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day transaction processing and accounting, preparing account reconciliations in connection with the close process, and performing financial analysis on an as-needed basis. This role will be responsible for supporting the monthly close processes and initiating process improvements.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and can succeed in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The candidate will be encouraged to go beyond the traditional accounting responsibilities of closing and work on various projects using data and analytical skills to drive better company performance.
What You'll Do

• Participate in various month-end close accounting functions, including preparing reconciliations between subledger and G/L, preparing roll-forwards and account analyses, and processing journal entries for a variety of G/L accounts (e.g. Accounts Receivables, Undeposited Funds, Deferred Revenue, Deferred Commissions, Revenue, Commissions, Bad Debt Expense, etc.)
• Participate in Commissions and Revenue transactions, ensuring proper recording, reconciliation, and settlement of balances in line with ASC 606 and ASC 340-40
• Support and assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
• Assist in implementing accounting policies and procedures to ensure all financial transactions are completed according to US GAAP principles
• Participate in process improvement projects to streamline, increase efficiencies, and enhance the internal controls over accounting processes and systems
• Manipulate, reconcile, and understand large volumes of data in Excel from various internal systems and the general ledger
• Assist in external financial reporting processes
• Work with internal and external auditors to provide support for audited financial statements
• Provide ad-hoc analyses to the team when requested

What You Have

• BA/BS degree in Accounting or related field
• 2+ years of experience in accounting
• Working understanding of US GAAP
• Ability to manipulate, manage, and decipher large amounts of data
• Ability to identify problems and discrepancies, independently perform technical research and analysis of causes, and recommend corrective actions
• Detail and results-oriented with an ability to collaborate in a cross-functional, fast-paced, and constantly evolving environment
• Ability to evaluate priorities and multi-task accordingly while keeping others informed of status
• Excellent written and communication skills
• Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Excel, Word and Powerpoint

Bonus Points

• Big 4 public accounting or public/private company corporate accounting experience; tech industry experience (specifically with a SaaS company) a plus
• CPA or working towards completing a CPA
• Familiarity with Tableau, Netsuite, Zuora Billing and Revenue, Blackline

The base salary at the time of hire for this position is expected to be between $55,350 - $101,000. Pay ranges at Yext are established based on an analysis of salaries for positions with a similar level of accountability and impact in the relevant labor market. Salary levels are expected to change to reflect an employee’s job performance (results and impact) over time. Salaries at the time of hire are typically offered in the lower to middle of the above-referenced range in order to provide the opportunity to reflect performance-based increases over time. In addition to base salaries, employees at Yext are typically eligible for a comprehensive package of benefits, and successful candidates may also be eligible for equity (stock) based compensation and/or variable pay programs based on performance relative to goals and targets.
