Revenue Accountant

The Revenue Accountant ensures the integrity of revenue information by recording, verifying, and consolidating billing transactions. Responsibilities include client invoicing, contract management, and GAAP revenue reporting.

Essential Functions

• Customer contract system - review, entry, and maintenance of accurate records
• Billing system administration (NetSuite)
• Client invoicing
• Sales reporting
• GAAP revenue reporting including deferred revenue calculations
• Third party royalty calculations, reporting, and payment approvals
• Accounts Receivables - responding to client inquiries
• Month-end close meetings, reporting, and other activities
• Preparation of journal entries
• Preparation of account reconciliations including deferred revenue, bad debt accrual, and allowance for credits
• Miscellaneous/Ad-Hoc financial analysis and reporting

Requirements

• BA/BS Accounting is preferred
• 3+ years accounting or staff accounting experience
• Solid experience managing accounting activities, variance analysis, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, familiarity/aptitude with ERP and CRM systems.
• Skilled NetSuite user
• Understanding of accounting data structure and how the data flows through the GL and ERP system.
• Power user of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Keen analytic and problem-solving skills which allows for strategic data interpretation versus simple reporting
• Strong written and verbal interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key data
• Ability/desire to translate complex financial concepts to individuals at all levels including finance & non-finance associates.
