Revenue Accountant / Analyst
Job Description
A Day in the Life and the Impact You'll Make:
DEKRA North America is looking for a highly versatile Revenue Accountant / Analyst with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple functions of the organization and within the accounting team. The position is part of Region Americas Shared Services team and will be responsible for handling revenue accounting transactions for various revenue streams and working with different systems. This position is located in our Atlanta, GA headquarters with the flexibility of a hybrid schedule (typically in the office Tues - Thur).
What You'll Do:
- Assist with month-end close procedures, including preparation and posting of journal entries ensuring compliance with IFRS.
- Assist in design and evaluation of policies and processes in support of FP&A and financial reporting
- Assist in developing process improvements that streamline controls and workflows
- Ensure that revenue and cost of sales are recognized in the proper periods and are within IFRS guidance.
- Complete project setup in various systems to ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition and ensure that all cost elements are appropriately accounted for
- Daily transactions impacting revenue and cost recognition
- Balance Sheet reconciliations and reconciliations relevant to revenue & cost of sales
- Work cross-functionally to assist with revenue and cost discrepancies related to financial and integrated systems
- Perform periodic ad hoc analytical projects, or requests from Management
- Maintain supporting documentation related to revenue recognized
- Assist with year-end audit requests as needed
- Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned
What You'll Bring:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting required
- Experience: 5+ years of experience
- Additional degrees in management information systems or computer science, or related experience a plus
- Project management and process improvement experience a plus
- Knowledge of revenue recognition standards and ability to apply to daily transactions
- 1-2 years of computer/information systems experience preferred or ability to understand information systems relevant to position
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to articulate findings, and movements in revenue and cost of sales
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to handle the accounting for multiple revenue streams/business lines
- Self-starter with ability to work independently and collaboratively as needed to drive projects
- Must possess problem recognition and resolution skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel including preparing and working with pivot tables, v-lookups, sum-ifs etc.
- Large ERP experience, SAP and/or Vision experience a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work within deadlines

- Ability to handle extended periods of computer-based work, including telephone
- Ability to work flexible and long hours, as needed

Compensation:
Actual pay is based on several factors including market location and position-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The base pay for this position is $60,000 annually to $75,000 annually.
